Excellent product, ideal for macro photography. Works perfectly on a Nikon D5300 with 85mm macro lens. Nice case too.
Good bit of kit

OK..here's the deal...I have read some ridiculously dumb comments and reviews by clearly ridiculous and dumb people who have no idea either what they wanted or how to utilise the ring flash once they had received it. Here are the downsides to owning this particular ringflash:Here now are the irritations: The small pamphlet manual translated from Chinese into Chinglish isn't that easy to follow IF YOU ARE A COMPLETE NUMPTY. For most of us however it is all fairly self explanatory and dare I say intuitive. The device itself offers a robust light ideal for in the field macro work, like all of these devices it will only work as effectively as the person using it...ie don't expect to get perfect TTL metering when using extension tubes or reversed lenses. For the money....around a third of the cost of a comparable 'name' brand RF you cannot go wrong.Within ten minutes of receiving the unit I was using it attached to a Nikon D800 and Sigma 105 2.8 macro and it gave me astonishing results.manual or TTL...can't be faulted.
Excellent and great addition to my macro kit bag!!

I just got the ring flash (Nikon fit) and have been practicing with it. So far, I really like it. It's a little heavy to hold for extended periods, so a tripod is recommended. My biggest complaint so far is that I can't understand the manual! The translation to english has so many grammatical and spelling errors that it is impossible to figure out what is trying to be said! Instead, I am just trying settings using experience along with trial and error.

I am still trying to properly understand how it works. The instructions are really badly translated and almost incomprehensible. But I must say the product itself seems robust and when I manage to get the settings to where I want them, works like a dream. Please get your user manual better translated.

This flash is a very affordable tool to explore close up photography with a very good range of settings. It’s has packed almost everything you need to know before you move on to the top of the league ring flashes.Specifications :Flash control: Insulated Gate Bipolar TransistorFlash power : GN14 (ISO100)Working range: 20cm ~ 5mFlash configuration: Two flash tubes can be fired singly or togetherExposure Control: TTL, Manual, Multi-shotFlash Ratio Control: ±6 stopsFlash power settings (manual): full power to 1/128th power in 1/3 stop incrementsIndependent control of tubes.Colour Temperature: ~5500kExternal interfaces: Camera hot shoe, Flash Sync. port, external charging portPower sources: 4*AA alkaline batteries or AA Ni-MH batteries (not included)Extra Function: Power saving, over-heat protectionSize of control unit: 143*73*61mmSize of flash unit: 130*126*28mmWeight: Approx 465gThe flash also comes with a stiff case which is brilliant at keeping everything together and safe.Accessories include adapter rings for different lenses filter thread size: 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, and 77mm, if nine of these for your lease the seller offers to contact them and they’ll send out the one you need. The ring flash fits to the lense as any filter would, just screw on and attach the flash with small button on the side. You press it again to release it.The back panel is clear to read even in now light as it’s backlit. The flash can also be fired the conventional sync lead.Be avare using wide angle lenses as it gives quite obvious vignette and by saying wide I mean 24mm and wider, you’d probably start seeing vignette some, but I only tested this flash with one fixed zoom wide angle lense.I really enjoy exploring the capabilities of this ring flash and it hasn’t disappointed me in any way, especially taking in consideration the price. It’s great value for money. Just one thing, I just wish someone marked the a and b flashes , as I keep confusing them. But I guess, that’s just a matter of getting used to it.

I was surprised by the quality of this as soon as I opened the shipping box. I have other Nikon speed-lights that cost hundreds of pounds so I though I would take a punt on this low cost ring flash. It comes in a zip up case, has about 5 different diameter attachment rings for different size lenses. The unit itself feels sturdy and well made - perhaps not quite in the same league as Nikon brand, but not far off. The ring flash itself fits nicely and it super responsive.I haven't yet read the manual (and it's written in quite good English), but it was simple to work out. You can use TTL, or manual, and full control over each 'half' of the ring (left/right are independent) or lighting ratio. Even has modelling lights - although these aren't very bright, good for macro, perhaps not so much if you are doing portrait work. Recommended.
